MVP Capital advised New Energy Solar Limited (NES), a leading sustainable investment fund, on its recent acquisition of substantial majority interests in the Stanford Solar Generating Station (Stanford Solar) and the TID Solar Generating Station (TID Solar) from SunPower Corporation.
Each project has a total generation capacity of 67.4 MWdc. Stanford Solar has secured a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Stanford University. TID Solar has secured a 20-year PPA with the Turlock Irrigation District, California’s first publicly-owned irrigation district. Both facilities are mechanically complete and are expected to reach their commercial operations dates prior to the end of 2016.
NES’ objective is to help investors generate positive social impacts and financial returns through a diversified portfolio of solar energy assets with contracted cash flows that generate emissions-free power. With the addition of the California projects, NES will own over 200MW of large-scale solar underpinned by highly creditworthy off-takers.
